These are things that I personally recommend because they have worked well for us. Of course all children and families are different so things that work for us may not work as well for others. I want to add also that I am not a PT or OT, so be sure to talk to yours about what they might recommend!

  • Oball Rattle- Easy to hold on to, this was the first toy L could hold for any length of time
  • Oball Twist O Round toy- L loved her Oball rattle so much but it was hard for her to chew so I got this thinking it might solve that problem. She loves it. A lot of moms have also recommended the Oball Flexi Loops teething toy for the same reason.
  • Summer Infant SuperSeat- Good support and grows with your baby.
  • Bright Starts Links- These are great because they allow you to hang toys from almost anywhere.
  • Kick and Play- This is great for learning to reach for and swat at toys, and with the extra links you can hang things within your baby's reach.
  • Boppy Nurser pillow- Excellent for PT, can be used for a number of exercises
  • Rock and Play- Reflux is common in all babies, and more so in babies with Down syndrome. The incline of this is great for minimizing reflux.
  • Bright Starts Rattle- The design of this rattle helps keep your baby's hand enclosed around it, teaching them to hold on for longer periods of time.
  • Laugh and Learn Piggy Bank- for fine motor skills
  • Baby's First Blocks- for fine motor skills
  • V-Tech Activity Cube
  • Baby Einstein Activity Saucer- We chose this exersaucer because we loved it, and Noah's dad recommended it. If you don't know who that is, check it out here! His blog is great. Here is a link to what he has to say about the exersaucer vs jumperoo for our kiddos. Our PT doesn't recommend putting L in any sort of device (swing/seat/exersaucer for extended periods of time, and stresses the importance of tummy time frequently!)
  • Baby Banana Teething Toothbrush- I was in the market to find a teether that was light weight and easy to hold on to, and this is it. These are great for all babies, but happen to work especially well for L. She loves them.
