This website is a place for me to share (me being Ashley, creator of this page, and mom to Lila who was born in 2015 with an extra chromosome).

In the blog section, you'll mostly find stories, updates, thoughts and informational posts about Down syndrome, and our journey through life with a child with special needs. In the resources section, you'll mostly find lists of helpful and/or inspirational and/or important resources for children and parents of children with Down syndrome. In the creative section, you'll find poems and songs I've written, and maybe some photos or videos I've taken that needed a place to live.

If you're wondering about the name I Heard It Thunder, it was taken from the lyrics of a song, Lila, by the band, Fapardokly. It's the song that sealed the deal on our daughter's name, and we had no idea how much the lyrics would ring true in our lives.
